Crusader Officers - is-Caertens Snoryk and Habli of C Company, The Missa Bottoms Regiment
Snoryk and Habli as children were in rival clans, with their families sometimes coming to blows. After OCS they were both assigned to C company after the Missa Bottoms regiment suffered 30% casualties during the storming of Gate 21. Their intense rivalry continued once assigned to the same unit and both faced discipline for numerous infractions.
When the Crymuster attempted to retake Gate 21the month following its fall the Missa’s were holding the breach and C company was among the reserves. Within minutes of the reserves being committed and the remaining Missa’s beginning to make their way to the breach a flight of Coftyran heavy krates survived the intense anti-kite fire and dropped its load of bombs on the approaches to the gate. Among the numerous casualties was the entire command squad of C Company including Caerten Alowynts. In the chaos and uncertainty both Snoryk and Habli took command of their respective sections, not knowing the status of the rest of the company, and charged into the breach to prevent the Crymuster counterattack that followed the massive bombing.
Survivors of C company remember the two young is-Caertens fiercely fighting in the heart of the breach until nightfall, and, indeed, they next morning their remains were found back to back with a dozen fallen Coftyran rhyflers around them.
