28mm Crusader Ailthean Tractor and two crew.

The Ailthean Light Armored Tractor was first deployed in 1750. It was built to

replace the ubiquitous and unpopular Mogyn Light Tractor. As light tractors were increasingly used for scouting and pursuit operations along the Tok/Kryst border speed

and cross-country ability quickly became a must for the Tokish Tractor Corps.

The Ailthean was designed from the ground up rather than a reworking of the basic Mogyn as had been done the previous decades. It has thicker armor, twice the cadier-power and a much improved suspension system. The fighting compartment is extremely cramped and loud. Often during cross-country travel the commander and gunner will ride on the outside top of the hull. The driver is left inside to sweat and bang his elbows.

There are currently three Tokish and a brand new  Easky based factory producing Ailtheans. Production varies by quite a bit, although the light tractors suffer many fewer maintenance problems than their heavy brethren, and averages 70 Hulls per week.

Many city-states under Crusader control have purchased Ailtheans in ones and twos to shore up their own defenses or have scavenged them from the battlefield and restored them. There have been many reports of the partisan bands in lower Creevin also fielding a dozen Ailtheans.

It is assumed that these were recovered after the disastrous Battle of Haestmyr in 1769
