When the grandmothers tell their tales of raiders from the sea, come in their longboats with fire and steel, it is the Vidaar Bondee every fawn sees. Hip deep in the icy surf, all leather, axe and shield, come to reclaim their birthright. Bucktoothed, hunch-backed, sure, but scary all the same. Especially in their hundreds, lined up and howling, beating their axes upon their shields and awaiting a signal from their styrsik to charge.
